SAMSUNG 203 cartridges have a chip that indicates the toner level. A replacement chip is not required because the printer will work even if the chip remains unchanged. However, the low toner warning light will stay on. On the other hand, a replacement chip may be purchased to enable the display of the toner after refilling.

This chip will reset the ink level of a Samsung MLT-D203E, MLT-D203L, MLT-D203S or MLT-D203U cartridge.
