SAMSUNG MLT-D109S, MLT-D209L and MLT-D209S cartridges have a chip that indicates the toner level. If you do not replace this chip, the printer will always tell you that your cartridge is "empty". The printer will work without a new chip, but it will be impossible to know the level of toner. See "Reset Chips".
